Any person actively involved in the Commercial Real Estate market in the Rochester Area is encouraged to join:

Networking -- Monthly local Rochester meetings scheduled each month provide opportunities to promote the individual's business and to meet fellow active members in the Commercial real estate industry.  Tours can be offered by our monthly hosts.  Because of COVID-19, we are currently using the Zoom platform for our meetings until we can meet in-person again.

Education -- Topics are offered locally as well as through the State (now on a regular basis virtually because of COVID-19), CCIM and other organizations in the real estate community.

Ability to Participate -- Members have the opportunity to participate on a variety of levels. Committees are formed to address Education, Membership, Events, Legislative, Golf and Awards, to name a few. There are many subcommittees formed for special events. Please contact a Board Member with your particular interests.

RAC NYSCAR Newsletter -- A quarterly newsletter is sent out to all of our members with important information relevant to our local Rochester Area Chapter.

Additional Benefits to Brokers:

Any person holding a Broker's license or a salesperson's license that agrees to subscribe to the REALTOR Code of Ethics may join NYSCAR on the state and local level. By joining, the member is eligible for many benefits that promote their interests.

REALTOR® -- The designation stands for professionalism and high standards.

Networking/Marketing -- Meetings are held at the State level several times each year, allowing the opportunity to promote listings statewide and to pursue acquisitions for clients searching for property outside of the Rochester region. Locally, monthly meetings are scheduled to educate on real estate developments, services and pertinent topics to promote transactions. Networking at these meetings allows participants to expand their contacts and market properties.

Governmental Affairs -- Through political action committees, the interests of the Commercial real estate practitioner are represented in the government, both in Albany and Washington, D.C.

Commercial Newsletter -- NYSCAR News is printed quarterly providing an update on issues affecting the industry, member news and educational/marketing information.

NAR® and NYSAR® -- Membership provides inclusion in the National Association of Realtors and the New York State Association of Realtors. Professional designations may be obtained, such as SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) and CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member).

Grievance/Professional Standards -- There are standing peer committees to enforce the high standard of ethical conduct and to arbitrate business between Commercial practitioners.

Standard Forms -- Professional Service Agreements such as Sell or Lease Listing Agreements and Tenant/Buyer Representation Agreements are available to members.
